Quiet Time Affirmations for the Hurried Heart

Quiet Time Affirmations for the Hurried Heart

Hi everyone,

Spring is here and with that and Spring Break coming up many of us are feeling the burn of being drained, overworked or overburdened. Many of us go through the day- to- day struggling and tired.  Taking time for ourselves is so important. As nurturers and caregivers, we can sometimes feel the burnout long after it has begun. Running here and there can take its toll on us, leaving us feeling frustrated and even doubting ourselves.

I remember the days where I was commuting to work 106 miles one way. It was so difficult to get all of the children ready and  household chores done to my liking with such little downtime. I felt like I was failing. I remembered the words of one of my mentors. She always has a kind word, and an encouraging word. She once told me, “Remember WHO you are and WHOSE you are.” Dear sister I want to pass these words on to you. When the frustrations of the world start to weigh you down, remember WHO you are and WHOSE you are. The  burdens of the day are so tough sometimes. Remember to have grace on yourself and to deal with yourself gently. We are so hard on ourselves and are often our worst critic. Why do we do this? What does God think of us? How does God think of us? Let us reach towards that truth!

One scripture that really stands out to me and ministers to my heart when it is hurried is Psalm 4:8. “I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.” NIV

I love to meditate on this because often times worry and anxiety would keep me up at night. I would be concerned about so many things. Then across my heart I would hear Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” NIV.

It is so true. We sometimes stay awake fretting about what could be or what MIGHT happen when we waste time thinking about these things, playing them over and over… and yet they are just imaginations. Thankfully most of the time, things turn out ok. And even when they do not… God gives us the grace to weather the storm. Now this is not just a pit-pat answer. I lived it time and time again. Moments where I was in anguish and did not know where to turn, God lifted me up and God lifted me out. But sometimes I had to wait out the storm and sometimes I had to ride it out. Sometimes I had to walk in the wilderness. It has been a journey for sure!

Sisters, as we go into this week I want to affirm you. I want to speak to your hurried heart and say, “You are enough. You are loved. You are blessed. You are created with purpose. God SEES YOU, and LOVES you.”

Here are some affirmations to speak/pray over yourself anytime, but especially when you feel that your heart is hurried. May the words which I created based in Biblical truths touch your soul and take root deep inside. May your hope and heart be anchored in God, who weathers all storms.

Let us make it a priority to take out time daily to spend time with the Lord. Not religious rituals that are dry. But real connections. If you are not quite sure how to please message me and I will GLADLY share with you how to start a relationship with God that is vibrant and full of life. Blessings to you as you begin your week. Let me know which ones speak to your heart the most in the comments below!

Have a good week!

Vanessa xoxo

Affirmations for a Hurried Heart

I can cast my cares before the Lord. The Lord cares for me, and cares about how I am doing.

I am blessed of the Lord. My future is bright. I am full of purpose.

These storms are around me now, but God is with me and I am not alone. This too will pass.

I can rest knowing that God is in control. God orders my steps. The Lord is still on His throne.

When I am overwhelmed God promises that He will not leave me, nor forsake me. He will hold me steadfast in his right hand, a hand of blessing.

God’s angels are around me protecting me. I am surrounded by God’s protection.

I can rest and be refreshed by the Lord. I can take time to be with Him.

Who I am is special. I am a daughter of the King.

Nothing is a surprise to God. He is the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. He’s got me.

When negativity attempts to bring me down, God’s word builds me up. It nourishes me, it sustains me.

God is a very present help in the time of trouble.

I do not have to fear. God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.

When I call to the Lord, he promises that he will be there for me. He is never too busy to listen.

God loves me with a love that is eternal.
